The 110-strong team of recovering personnel and veterans are taking part in the Invictus Games this week. These games are a fantastic opportunity to be inspired by the skilled human endeavour of a sportsperson, and moreover to show support for the bravery and selflessness of women and men who are rehabilitating from their time in the armed forces.
Prince Harry explained his intentions for the Games by saying "these Games have shone a spotlight on the ‘unconquerable’ character of servicemen and women, their families and the ‘invictus’ spirit’’.
With our passion for sport and our ongoing work with sporting professionals, we know only too well the power of sport on the mind and body, and the incredible ways in which it can transport players and unite entire communities. The work of the Invictus Games is about using the inspiring potential of competition and the sporting environment to directly benefit servicewomen and men who are in rehabilitation and recovery.
